John has practised law since 1980, following graduation from the University of Western Australia. His early career also included practice in London and Sydney (where he obtained a Masters of Law from the University of Technology, Sydney). John returned to Western Australia in 1990, initially joining a firm with a national profile in which he ultimately attained partnership.
